The plant comprise of 24 Power Generator sets of 5.65 MW each with an installed capacity of 135.6 MW (dependable capacity of 120.5 MW). Each of the generator set has medium speed - four stroke diesel engine and are designed for operation using heavy furnace oil, provided startup, low load operation and shut down operation are on diesel fuel.

The plant is built on site of approx 25 acres in vicinity of Jia Bagga, off Raiwind road, District Lahore in the province of Punjab.
